Loved this! All absolutely on point - there are further grey areas when you get into brand-sponsored editorial series, which has definitely been a thing I've noticed (ummm maybe written for) too.

I feel like an adjacent episode to this could be digging into the murky waters of nepotism a music journalist has to navigate when the people they're writing about start becoming their mates. I noticed Pitchfork's guideline on review pitching that you absolutely must not already have a relationship with an artist you're pitching, and it made me realise I've never been told / asked that before.
